Taking ATPL course at EAS Barcelona. Interview with the student.

Please tell us a few words about yourself.

My name is Martí Reverté Rodellas and I am 19 years old. I am from Barcelona and currently studying to become a pilot at flight school EAS Barcelona. I am making my dream come true.

Which course are you doing with EAS Barcelona?

I’m doing the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) course. It is an 18 month integrated course where I can learn theory and also learn and practice to fly planes. In the theoretical part we learn the fundamentals of aeronautics and aviation and everything that relates to it. During the practical part we physically learn to fly a plane with the best guarantees of safety. We learn to take decisions in complicated situations as well. We are trained and prepared for all possible situations which we could find in our daily work and in the future.

How and why did you select this school?

I selected this school because of the good references I had about it. When I asked for the course, I found it very interesting that they offered the highest quality and professionalism, which they apply to all of their courses. I also liked that they offered very convenient facilities. The school office, library and simulators are located right in the middle of Barcelona city, next to central Sants train station.

What do you like the most about studying at EAS Barcelona?

What I like most about school is the teachers and personal at school. The teachers are very knowledgeable and professional.

It is fortunate that students which start from 0 receive training by very experienced and qualified teachers. Every class feels like an authentic master class.

During flight practice, we have instructors of very high level, which provide us with the best guarantees for safety and professionalism. This is very important in the world of aviation. Assurance of high quality training as a pilot is the key which will accompany you till the rest of your life.

How do you think EAS Barcelona could improve?

Things are done with the utmost seriousness and professionalism and I do not see any complaints about the school. This school is always improving and evolving and providing the highest level of education in the field of pilot training.

What do you think is the most exciting part of your studies and why?

This question is very easy and I think it is obvious for all pilots! 🙂
For me the most exciting part of the course is flying. The feeling flying an airplane gives you is incredible! Every time you fall in love with flying more and more.

Describe the first time you had to fly. How did this feel for you?

For me it is very difficult to describe what I felt the first time I flew, because you must live the experience to know it. Is a feeling of freedom that can only be lived through flying and it is very difficult to describe. It’s a passion and it’s magic. What I can say is that for me flying means thrills, freedom and joy without forgetting the responsibility it implies.

What could you recommend to other future students of EAS Barcelona?

I would like to recommend that they continue studying and working hard and that they make the most of this opportunity because it will accompany them for the rest of their life. I would also like to tell them to enjoy this special time to the fullest and never lose focus of what they do.

What do you like the most about studying in Barcelona?

Barcelona is my home town but I know that many people from abroad love this city for its vibrant culture, closeness to the sea, great climate and food. I think that the place where the school is located is very convenient as it is very close to one of the most important train stations and very easy to get to from anywhere in Barcelona and even from other nearby towns. Unlike with other flight schools around Barcelona, there is no need to go to an airport in Sabadell every day because all theoretical classes are taught at the office in Barcelona city, which is very convenient. It is not very easy to get to Sabadell. Many students from other schools end up spending a lot of their time commuting. Flight lessons are not practiced every day and there is no real need to be at the airport every day.

What airline do you aspire to fly for?

I haven’t thought about this yet. At the moment I only think to study to the maximum and to enjoy the moment I am in. What I know is that I want to fly and this makes me happy. If I had to pick the company, I would say that I would like to work for a company which would treat me well and where things are done professionally and with the commitment to improve every day. I would like to work for a company committed to the highest quality of work, and which would continuously improve to keep up with the maximum level for all the important parameters in aviation, especially safety and security.
